Over the years as a trainer two of the most common comments I get told frequently are.
“You don’t understand what it’s like to be big, your a health nut”.
“I know I need to do something about my health and fitness, but it’s not the right time”.
Firstly let me answer the second question, if now is not the right time then when is. We can go along in life making excuses not to do things because it takes effort to get out of your comfort zone and work at something. But until we find that reason WHY we will keep doing more of the same which is generally nothing.
As most of you know 2019 was not a great year for me, I had 2 major injuries one of which put me out and on the couch for 8 weeks, and just as I was recovering from that I had knee surgery which meant more time off and for someone who is very active and lives an active lifestyle it mentally took a toll. Yes I could use excuses and feel sorry for myself but I made the choice (with a little nudge from my husband) to focus on what I could which was looking after my health and making sure I was eating properly and I always had meals prepared, and I also did some extra study to better myself as a body transformation specialist so I can help change the lives of other people.
15 weeks post surgery and I am back into my training.
Dean and I are doing our own F.I.R.E training in which we will be sharing our journey along the way with all of you.
In answer to the first question, “You don’t understand what it’s like to be big, your a health nut”.
Actually I do know what it’s like to be carrying around extra weight and struggling to feel motivated to do anything, making bad food choices which leads to even more weight gain, then feeling worse about myself because I keep eating crap and drinking and round and round I went in a continuous, unhealthy loop.
What woke me up was wanting to be the best role model I could for my 4 kids and showing them there was another way to be healthy and look after yourself properly so you can live life to it’s fullest.
Don’t wait to do something about your health and fitness until it’s to late, step out of your comfort zone put in some hard work and be the best version of you that you can be.
